I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and can provide respectful, warm and genuine support. I work from home just outside Wadhurst village, in a welcoming location.
I recognise that it’s natural to feel anxious and overwhelmed when taking the first tentative steps toward seeking counselling support. It is very common to be experiencing a variety of unpleasant and conflicting feelings and the ability to 'think straight' can be severely compromised. Persistent doubts and contradiction, often accompanied by self-reproach, can produce a situation whereby decision-making becomes extremely difficult. It’s therefore not unusual to be fearful and hesitant about initiating support, even though this would be a wise thing to do.
You can either call or email me to confide, confidentially and without compulsion, what troubles you. This can often be a helpful means of introduction and a time to ask any questions you may have. There then follows the option of arranging an appointment, which provides the opportunity to meet me and to sensitively assess your current experience of life and how I might be able to help you. This first meeting is free of charge, as I make no assumption that you will choose to continue the process.
I can provide a safe and calm space that promotes trust and the encouragement, at your own pace, to share with me what you perceive as preventing you from enjoying a meaningful and fulfilling life. This will be done non-judgementally and in such a way as to enable you to begin to overcome your vulnerability make sense of current feelings, thoughts and behaviour.
Through the experience of really feeling listened to and by working collaboratively, I aim to both motivate and enable you to recognise your personal potential, help you identify what it is in your life that you want to change and support you in achieving these changes and of finding meaningful and positive ways forward.
